Position Overview:
L.E.K.’s Information & Research Center (IRC) team serves as a center of excellence for secondary research across the firm. External information is an important input into our work providing our clients with impactful answers to their strategic questions. The IRC team ensures that the firm has access to best-inclass resources, by establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant vendors, providing access to relevant information, ensuring team members are aware of resources and when they are applicable to use, and ensuring successful, impactful and compliant use of the resources.

Given the significance of the need for high quality data and information, the U.S. Resource and Data Vendor Lead is responsible for the selection and management of the resources available to the IRC team and across the broader firm. This will require an understanding of L.E.K.’s offerings and how information and data can support these offerings. It will also require a basic understanding of contracts and creative negotiation to ensure compliant use of resources. All of this will be achieved through building solid relationships with a variety of vendors. The Resource and Data Vendor Lead will also oversee the operational aspects of ensuring that staff can leverage our resources (e.g., billing, access, etc.) with direct support from our resource management specialist, who will report to the Lead. 

Strategic alignment
- Collaborate with IRC team members, sector leaders, and various stakeholders to understand business needs and align vendor capabilities
- Develop and implement processes and strategies to continuously assess the need for new / evolved vendor relationships
- Supported by the IRC research team, identify and evaluate potential resources and provide recommendations based upon results
- Collaborate with and support global counterparts and stakeholders
Vendor management
- Identify, evaluate and negotiate contracts with secondary resource and data vendors
- Monitor vendor performance and ability to meet the needs of our business
- Foster strong relationships with vendors; maintain knowledge of new / upcoming features, share feedback and improvement areas based on our business needs, and support communication between vendor and IRC research team to understand resource updates and new features
- Support ad hoc data / report purchases as needed
Compliance and risk management
- Work with vendors to establish a mutually beneficial relationship and agreement to maintain favorable compliance and risk management protocols
- Ensure that LEK is compliant with our vendor terms and relationships by establishing and maintaining processes, policies and trainings that emphasize key points, and serve as the subject matter expert on terms, in partnership with the Legal team
- Provide oversight regarding access to resource in compliance with vendor requirements, supported by the Resource Management Specialist
Budget management
- Develop and manage the budget for vendor contracts with sector and business leaders
- Manage work done by the Resource Management Specialist to report internal chargebacks, ensure timely payment of invoices, etc.


Education / experience: bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field (e.g., business, library science) and/or equivalent relevant experience preferred
Skills: strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, excellent understanding of resource management, strong business acumen notably in our core sectors and types of business problems, ability to work in a cross-functional environment, proficient in relevant software and tools
