Bookkeeper, Peabody Institute Library of Danvers (Danvers)

This position is responsible for accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions of the library, including helping to manage the library’s budget through processing invoices, record keeping, and tracking spending throughout the year by the library. The bookkeeper also attends town budget meetings with the Library Director and Assistant Director, works with the Town Accounting department, and may work individually with different library staff to keep the budget on track. This position also gets to help with the finances of the Trust fund managed by the Library Trustees.

An understanding of the workings of a library is beneficial, but not required.

This is a 20 hour per week benefitted position.  Schedule can be flexible. 
The start date for this position is MARCH 11th.


Desired qualifications include any combination of: Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience with accounting and/or bookkeeping in an office setting required. Completed coursework in accounting and/or bookkeeping required. Knowledge of Excel and Quicken required. Knowledge of MUNIS preferred.
