Senior Library Technician Adult Services, Hubbard Memorial LIbrary (Ludlow)

The Senior Library Technician works under the supervision of the Library Director and/or the Reference & Technology Librarian and is responsible for Adult Services consisting of circulation, inter-library loan, and adult programming.  Performs public contact work to help patrons with library needs. Performs duties the Director deems necessary as consistent with the employee’s training and ability.   This full-time, non-exempt employee must be available evenings and Saturdays. The current schedule is one evening per week and alternate Saturdays, is subject to change.


Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. MLS or MLIS preferred. An equal equivalent of experience and education may be considered. Must have working knowledge of library procedures and some knowledge of practices and techniques of modern library operations including circulation, programming for adults, and information access. In addition, applicant must have ability to follow detailed directions and always meet and deal courteously with the public.  Familiarity with the use of computers and Microsoft Office software is also required. Employment is subject to passing a CORI and pre-employment physical.
