Circulation Supervisor, Hingham Public Library (Hingham)

The Hingham Public Library seeks a friendly and welcoming customer service oriented individual to supervise the Library’s busy Circulation Department and assist us in providing Circulation Services to customers of all ages. Work includes ensuring that staff delivers quality customer service by providing them with on-going instruction and guidance; supervises, trains, and monitors the work of Circulation staff and assigned volunteers to ensure they are knowledgeable with departmental policies and procedures; evaluates and reviews staff work performance; runs, processes and prepares statistical and other reports as required; works at service desks performing circulation duties such as checking out library materials and processing returns; and responds to inquiries, requests, and complaints. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A liberal arts Bachelor’s Degree and one to three years of relevant library work experience, including supervisory experience, is preferred; or any equivalent combination of supervisory and library work acceptable to the Library Administration. Schedule includes some evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays as scheduled by the Assistant Library Director. Schedule subject to change throughout the year.

Salary Notes

35 hours/week average. Grade L-12. Range $29.98 - $36.43/hour in five annual steps.
