Department Assistant - Administrative, Grafton Public Library (Grafton)

The Town of Grafton is seeking an individual to fill the position of Department Assistant at the Grafton Public Library. This position is responsible for assisting the Library Director with day-to-day operations of the Library and providing clerical support to the Board of Library Trustees at their monthly meetings. This is a 35-hour per week Union position.

Duties include, but are not limited to: directing correspondence to the appropriate person/department or responding when necessary, provide support for grants, assist with scheduling and payroll, attend monthly trustee meetings, prepare and maintain trustee documents and policies collection, and record staff meeting minutes. Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma and 1-3 years of related experience, preferably in a municipal or public facing setting. Knowledge of public library services, practices, and information resources preferred. Applicants must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and be able to use a variety of computer software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills are required. This is a 35-hour per week Union position.
