GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Henry Whittemore Library seeks a part-time reference librarian. The part-time Reference Librarian assists library users at the Research and Learning helpdesk, the Circulation Desk, and by phone, email, and chat. This is a part-time non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides reference and research assistance in person, and by phone, email, chat, or online communication for two five-hour shifts
• Maintains statistics for all reference services provided
• Gathers data to assess reference statistics
• Support library instruction and research workshops
• Supports the Access Services department by serving as the supervisor for the main desk on Saturdays for a five-hour shift
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution of higher education, or currently enrolled in an accredited Library School
• Experience working in a library
• Ability to work with diverse constituencies
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work flexibly, collaboratively, and collegially in a dynamic workplace.
• Experience working with online resources such as online databases, Libguides, and Microsoft Office

Additional Information:
This is a part-time non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.
