Access Services Evening Associate, Mount Holyoke College LITS (South Hadley)

Library, Information, and Technology Services (LITS) at Mount Holyoke College seeks a diverse pool of applicants for the full-time position of Access Services Evening Associate. This position is a member of the Discovery & Access team, which works to connect the Mount Holyoke Community to the many information resources available to them virtually and in person.

Working in a collegial and service-oriented environment, and in close collaboration with colleagues in LITS and the Five Colleges Consortium, this person strives to provide outstanding customer service while delivering course reserve services and performing a wide variety of public services tasks. This is a benefits eligible position with a 37.5 hour per week schedule (1:30pm-10PM, Tuesday - Saturday).

Qualifications

Two years of experience working in a customer-service role in a user-focused organization

Enthusiastic customer service orientation with a record of progressively-responsible experience related to duties and responsibilities of the position

Ability both to work as a team member and to work independently in the weekend/evening environment when professional colleagues are not available

Evidence of supervisory potential

Basic knowledge of general office procedures, and accounting principles, with advanced Excel skills

Excellent oral and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to effectively convey technical information to a non-technical audience

Flexibility to accept, manage and incorporate change and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced environment

Creativity, with a passion for supporting a collaborative work environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, students, administrators, staff, and others

Ability to maintain a professional and tactful approach in all interactions, ensuring confidentiality and an individual’s right to privacy regarding appropriate information

Salary Notes

The minimum starting pay rate for this position is $23.12. The rate of pay is commensurate with experience.
