Coordinator of Learning Resources - Writing Center, Bristol Community College, Library Learning Commons (LLC) (Fall River)
REPORTS TO: Dean of Library Learning Commons
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Responsible for the management of the college's Writing Center, a service of the Library Learning Commons.
POSITION STATUS: This is a MCCC/MTA, part-time, non-benefitted, unit position. The coordinator works 18.5 hours per week. The weekly schedule may not exceed 18.5 hours per week. Some nights and weekends may be required. This position works the equivalent of 50 weeks per year (10 non-paid holidays).
SALARY: $33.95 per hour
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Learning Resources Coordinator, Writing Center is responsible for the college's Writing Center services, including the design, implementation, and assessment of programs and services to improve the retention and academic success of all students. In consultation with LLC colleagues, faculty, professional staff, and administrators, the Coordinator will enable the provision of comprehensive academic support for writing on all campus sites and across all modes of delivery. As part of a geographically distributed team, the Coordinator helps manage tutors and the tutoring schedule, supervises peer, work-study and volunteer tutors, and works collaboratively with other LLC staff to develop programs and deliver services as an integrated unit. The Coordinator assists with tutor training and certification, participates in team meetings, and serves as the Learning Commons liaison to the English program. This position is based at the Fall River campus. Travel to other college locations is required.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.
Minimum of a Master's degree in English, Creative Writing, Rhetoric/Composition, or Teaching with a background in English.*
Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training that includes teaching in assigned specialty, nontraditional student instruction, program management, and personal computer operations. *
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Office 365 applications, managing file formats, and videoconferencing tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations, as required. · Ability to work nights and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
Ability to work effectively in an online (remote) environment.
The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: .
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a tutor.
Demonstrated experience in an academic support role in higher education, including familiarity with any of the following: program development and promotion, peer-assisted learning models, tutor training and certification, developmental writing support, or academic skills coaching.
Demonstrated success in supporting community college students from underrepresented groups, including students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, first-generation-to-college students, adult students, and low-income students.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to academic support services.
Familiarity with Bristol's English curriculum or similar developmental and lower division program(s) of study.
Experience with TracCloud or other tutoring center scheduling or data management software.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
