The Enterprise Library Manager is responsible for providing Danaher associates with access to literature and associated insights in support of technical, business and strategic objectives. In this capacity, the role works in close partnership with stakeholders across Danaher, engaging with customers across Operating Companies, Platforms and Corporate to perform literature searches and synthesize insights; partnering with Corporate Finance and Legal teams to secure competitive, volume-based pricing with publishers and ensure copyright compliance; and collaborating with leaders in AI and Innovation to transform library services and enrich scientific insights using AI.
This position reports to the Vice President, External Innovation and Partnerships at Cytiva, a Danaher Operating Company, and will be fully remote with periodic travel to domestic and global Danaher sites.
What you will do:
Deliver access to scientific resources and insights by collaborating with requestors on literature searches and syntheses, providing guidance on landscaping and mining using library tools, and supporting platform‑level searches for strategic projects and programs.
Enable effective use of library resources across the enterprise by developing and delivering training, promoting library services, and maintaining strong communication and partnerships with associates, teams, and stakeholder groups.
Model exceptional internal and external customer service while serving as a trusted partner to associates seeking high‑quality, timely, and actionable scientific information.
Manage the financial, operational, and governance aspects of the Enterprise Library by maintaining best‑practice library operations, negotiating enterprise‑wide content agreements, ensuring copyright compliance, and designing frameworks for archiving search results and research syntheses.
Leverage AI and strategic collaboration to evolve library services by integrating agentic AI into search and summarization workflows with the Corporate AI team and partnering with Business and Strategic Intelligence leadership to combine scientific literature insights with broader enterprise data sources.
Qualifications
Who you are:
MLS degree from an ALA accredited institution, and member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals.
BS degree in medical, physical sciences or biological (Bachelor’s 5+ years’ experience/Master’s with 3+ years’ experience performing scientific literature searches.)
Advanced research and search expertise, including command‑line techniques, controlled vocabulary searching, big‑data trend analysis, and patent searching using tools such as Innography, Scopus, PubMed, and Embase.
Strong foundation in professional library principles and practices, including knowledge of library theories, policies, procedures, and standards.
Proven ability to manage databases and electronic resources, ensuring reliable access to information and effective use of enterprise research platforms.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in project coordination, time management, problem solving, and use of citation management software (e.g., SciWheel).
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel to domestic and global Danaher sites, up to 10%.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience applying AI/ML to literature discovery and analysis, including search optimization, summarization, and insight generation, along with a working understanding of copyright compliance requirements.
Proven ability to manage enterprise‑level contracts and budgets while applying continuous improvement principles, including experience implementing the Danaher Business System (DBS).
