Collections Logistics Manager, University of Massachusetts Amherst Libraries (Amherst)
The Collections Logistics Manager leads and coordinates the Libraries’ physical collections operations and collections-related logistics. The role oversees planning and implementation of workflows supporting the movement, storage, preservation, access, and lifecycle management of physical materials. Working collaboratively across the Libraries and with external partners and vendors, the Manager provides project management, supervises staff, manages risk and contingency planning, maintains vendor relationships, and documents procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Three or more years of experience with employee supervision
Three or more years of experience with managing operations and/or inventory of physical materials
Familiarity with integrated library systems or library services platforms
Ability to work with and manage large data sets
Strong problem solving and organizational skills p>
Ability to work cooperatively within teams and maintain constructive working relationships.
Ability to position, lift, or move bulky equipment or materials weighing 30 to 60 pounds.
Must possess a valid driver’s license to perform duties requiring travel between library locations, storage facilities, and partner sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification or training in project management.
Experience with FOLIO.
Experience with government documents or Federal Depository Library Program.
Experience working with non-print library media. p>
Knowledge of library preservation and disaster response techniques.
