Senior Library Technician - Administrative, Hingham Public Library (Hingham)
The Hingham Public Library seeks a friendly, welcoming, and energetic individual and team-player who has strong administrative and communication skills, facility working with and learning new technologies, and who is committed to providing excellent customer service to all library visitors of all ages. Work involves providing Circulation, Children’s and Technology Services to customers of all ages, with a particular emphasis on providing Administrative support to the Library’s Business Administrator and Board of Trustees. Work includes performing specialized services for various divisions within the Library, where the duties are of similar complexity and responsibility, but where the actual work tasks are apt to be somewhat different. Administrative duties may include performing administrative work for Library Administrators, including preparing reports, taking Trustee minutes, agendas, letters, and other documents as required; performing data entry and basic bookkeeping functions for accounts receivables and payables as well as preparing related correspondence in support of the annual fundraising drive; collecting and posting mail and making bank deposits; and keeping track of library supply inventory and ordering requests. Circulation duties may include supervising Library Technicians, Pages, and volunteers; performing circulation tasks such as providing information and assistance to patrons at service desks; checking out library materials and processing returns and inter-library loan deliveries; assisting patrons in the use of various technologies to help them access digital library collections and databases; assisting with collection development and maintenance; shelving library materials; running and processing circulation reports; and responding to inquiries, requests, and complaints. The individual will work in various library departments including Administrative Office, Circulation, Children’s and Technology services. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A candidate for this position should have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of Library and/or office experience, or equivalent education or experience.
Schedule includes daytime, evening, and rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts as scheduled, and is subject to change throughout the year.

Part-time with Benefits: 25 hours/week average. Salary is $30.18 - $36.68 per hour (Grade L-8) in five annual steps.
