Youth Services Librarian, Elizabeth Taber Library (Marion)
The Elizabeth Taber Library, a small public library in the quaint New England seaside community of Marion, MA (pop 5,347) is seeking a part time Youth Services Librarian to provide full range of library services with a focus on services to children and young adults, including middle readers, tweens, and teens, and to help establish and maintain a successful young adult space within the ETL. If you are creative and enthusiastic about working with young people this is the perfect place to build a welcoming and fun community space for kids of all ages.
The Youth Services librarian is responsible for planning and implementing programing activities for the benefit of tweens, teens, and young adult patrons, including evening and weekend activities. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
-general circulation duties
-Maintaining an engaging and safe environment for children and teens
-Developing and maintaining a diverse, relevant, and modern Young Adult collection that includes print, audio, visual media, and library of things materials
-Advocating for youth services by collaborating with local educational and cultural institutions
-providing support to our children’s department
This is a part time position, 18 hours a week including evenings and Saturdays.
