Head Reference Librarian, Jesse M Smith Memorial Library (Burrillville, RI)
The Town of Burrillville, a community located in northwest Rhode Island, is seeking applicants for the position of Head Reference Librarian. The opening is at the Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library, a 24,900 square foot facility, located in the village of Harrisville. This is a department head position, and involves planning, implementing and supervising all reference and adult programming services. Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision, and be capable of supervising staff and volunteers. This position reports to the Assistant Director. This is a full time position (35 hours per week) with some nights and weekends required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master of Library Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association.
· Previous library experience preferred.
· Ability to work independently.
· Exemplary customer service skills. Comfortable working with the public in busy situations.
· Organization skills and attention to detail.
· Good communication skills.
· Excellent computer skills required. Koha experience preferred, but not required. Must be familiar with trends in technology.
