Youth Services Library Assistant/Librarian I, Nevins Library (Methuen)
The Nevins Library located in Methuen, MA is seeking an energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with youth (ages 0-18) and their adult caregivers in the Youth Services Department. The Library serves a diverse population of approximately, 50,000 in a NH border community.
This person will plan and present programming for ages 0-18 and adult caregivers (as needed), provide Youth Services Desk coverage to include reference and reader’s advisory tasks, as well as help maintain a neat, inviting public space.
Full-time 35 hours per week, including day and evening shifts, as well as rotating Saturdays. Current MLIS students are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
- At least three (3) years' experience working with preschool and/or elementary children in a library or school setting
- Able to work with a diverse population, while respecting people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds
- Committed to excellent customer service, with the ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a busy environment
- Familiarity with working in a technology-oriented environment
- Strong teamwork, excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in a second language (especially Spanish) is preferred
