Makerspace Coordinator, Watertown Free Public Library (Watertown)
The Watertown Free Public Library is looking for a coordinator to manage operations at our off-site makerspace, Hatch. Located in donated commercial space at the Residence at Watertown Square (20 Summer St.), Hatch provides space, tools, materials, and instruction in a variety of maker technologies, crafts, and arts. The Hatch Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering innovative maker programming, training and supervising Hatch volunteers and staff, and maintaining the Hatch space, equipment, and materials.

This is a full-time, 37 hours/week, union position. The City offers an excellent benefit package which includes pension, deferred compensation, health insurance 80% City paid premium, four weeks paid vacation, sick, personal, and holidays; flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and more. Schedule requires a minimum of one evening per week and one Saturday shift in a regular rotation. Starting salary is $44.71/hour. Full salary range is $44.71-$59.00 per hour.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have the following minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Education, Engineering, Fine Art, Crafts, Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 1+ year experience with volunteer coordination or staff management
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem solve a variety of hardware and software problems, including software and hardware that may be initially unfamiliar.
• Experience in program development or coordination
• 1+ year of successful experience serving people of diverse ages and cultural/ethnic/language backgrounds in a library, makerspace, or other informal or formal learning environment.
