Outreach Librarian, Westfield Athenaeum (Westfield)
The Outreach Librarian is an enthusiastic, energetic, and service oriented individual who plans, promotes, and supervises programs, creates promotional print and online material for programs, delivers library material to homebound patrons, and staffs the reference desk. This position requires a flexible work schedule, including the need to work some nights and weekends.
The primary duty of the Outreach Librarian is to plan, promote, and supervise the library's wide range of programming. This position also requires a person who can create promotional material for press releases, posters, signage and the library's website. Other duties include delivering material to our homebound patrons, providing inclusive, engaging and dynamic customer service, staffing the reference desk, and managing a calendar for meeting room bookings.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is highly desired, an MLIS is preferred. We would also prefer that candidates have one to three years of experience in fundraising, marketing, social media management, graphic design, programming, and community development. Other skills that we are seeking include: familiarity with Evergreen, basic computer literacy, excellent planning and organizational abilities, public speaking skills, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
