Library I - Adult Services, Reading Public Library (Reading)

Due to a recent retirement, Reading Public Library (Reading, MA) is hiring a full-time Reference and Adult Services Librarian.

The Reading Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and adaptable Librarian to plan and implement engaging adult programming, coordinate community outreach initiatives, provide reference and readers' advisory services, and develop inclusive collections. We're looking for a self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills who thrives in collaborative environments and demonstrates genuine enthusiasm for public service.

This non- exempt 32.5-hour-a-week position includes one evening per week and a Saturday rotation, and is eligible for Sunday hours at a 1.5 OT rate. Full benefits and ample professional development opportunities are included. Expected hiring range: $31.67-$33.95 per hour.

Qualifications

1.      Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in any subject;

2.      Master's Degree in Library Science and two to four years of professional library experience; or

3.      Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
