Job Posting: Part Time Employment
Job Title: Page
Reports to: Children’s Librarian, Circulation LibrarianHours: Part-time, up to five hours per week regularly scheduled, plus possible fill-in shifts. May include evening and weekend hours.

Duties

● Accurately sorts and shelves books, periodicals and non-print materials by call number and section stickers
● Maintains neat shelves by straightening and shifting materials as needed
● Performs other tasks as required

Schedule:
The library has a limited number of Page positions, each requiring a commitment to a specific schedule, with occasional fill-in shifts as needed.
Position 1
Main & Lower Levels (Adult): Wednesday and Thursday, 6:30-9:00 pm
Position 2
Upper Level (Children’s and Teen Rooms): Wednesday and Thursday, 5:00-7:00 pm
Salary: $15 per hour

Qualifications

● Successful completion, prior to employment, of the Library Page test, which measures essential skills including alphabetizing, numerical sequencing, and following directions
● Excellent attention to detail
● Able to reliably report for work as scheduled
● Willing to fill in other days of the week
● Work independently and with environmental distractions
● Able to maintain confidentiality regarding patron information
● Move and lift library materials up to 30 pounds, with assistance if necessary, from one location to another
● Wheel and maneuver book carts of various weights (up to 200 pounds)
● Transport materials between library departments
● Requires up to 3 hours of standing at a time
● Able to bend and reach lower shelves and upper shelves
