Library Assistant, Lunenburg Public Library (Lunenburg)

The Town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for the position of Library Assistant.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working at the circulation desk, booking
meeting rooms, checking out museum passes, checking in and shelving library serials, assisting
with maintenance of collections, assisting with programs as needed, receiving library materials
that have been purchased, assisting with creating signage and marketing flyers as needed, other
duties as requested by Library Director.    

The position will remain open until filled, with preference given

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of
how a library is organized, experience with Evergreen systems a plus, a willingness to learn
new skills, the ability to work independently, ability to use online catalogs and databases, and a
desire to work with people of all ages. Basic computer skills, familiarity with Word and Excel,
excellent communication skills, good customer service skills, excellent organizational skills.
This position requires the capacity to interact effectively and tactfully with the general public.
The candidate should also be capable of adapting to new technologies as required.

This is a Grade 5, Salary Administration Plan non-benefitted position, $15.07-$18.54/hour; 19 hour work-week.
