General Assistant, Woburn Public Library (Woburn)

The Woburn Public Library seeks two part-time general assistants.  Duties include but are not limited to: assisting patrons of all ages, providing reader’s advisory services, charging and discharging library materials, registering new patrons, shelving materials, performing various clerical and administrative tasks, assisting with or leading library programs and activities.

The schedule for this position may include two evenings per week and Saturdays.

The Woburn Public Library is a national historic landmark built in 1879.  It boasts a state-of-the art new addition which is an architectural marvel.  The newly renovated facility re-opened in March 2019.  It houses a spacious Children’s Library and the Woburn Public Library’s first Teen Room.  We are in an exciting time of transition, while adapting to the current pandemic and focusing on providing the best service possible to our community.

Qualifications

Proven customer service skills with ability to work well with the public and other team members.

Previous experience working with all ages.

Ability to assist patrons with some reader’s advisory.

Dependable with excellent attendance demonstrated in previous work experience.

Experience in the Minuteman Library Network (MLN) system preferred.
