Youth Services Specialist, Chelmsford Public Library (Chelmsford)

The Chelmsford Public Library has an opening for a specialist in our thriving Youth Services department. We’re looking for you: a creative professional with experience in programming, reader’s advisory, reference, and customer service to children and teens along with their families and caregivers.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with a team to design and provide vibrant programs to kids ages 0-18 and their families. This librarian will be ready to assist the Youth Services Department Head with collection development and be excited to recommend great reads to all who use our collections. Do you specialize in early literacy, STEAM, intergenerational programming, or something we haven’t even thought of yet? We’re eager to explore new and innovative services for youth in Chelmsford.

We offer the opportunity to work with a crackerjack youth services team led by a supportive, forward-thinking department head - and an overall library staff of 30 - all providing “getting to yes” customer service. You’ll be working in an organization that lives its values of reading, inclusion, curiosity, and fun. We believe in every staff member having opportunities to learn and grow.

Our Library and Community: A fun and rewarding place to work! We have highly engaged residents and Town counterparts who support the library in visible ways. Our staff, Trustees, and Friends are excited to turn ideas into reality, and we’re not afraid to try new things. We have welcomed many vibrant new librarians in the past few years as other staff grew into new positions; we support professional growth and cultivate an environment of mentorship and inclusion
