Adult Services Librarian-Part Time, Marlborough Public Library (Marlborough)
The Marlborough Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, team player for a part-time (up to 19.5 hours/week) job to join our Adult Services Department. Schedule includes one night a week and Saturdays on a rotation.
Duties include providing excellent customer service at the Information desk, providing positive outcomes to patron issues, leading and planning programs for adults, providing assistance with questions related to technology, genealogy, readers advisory and more. Assists with collection development for assigned collections.
A successful candidate will have a positive attitude; a desire to help people; the ability to learn new technology and adapt well to change; strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be reliable. Familiarity with Spanish, Portuguese is desirable.
Qualifications
Requirements include a Masters of Library Science (soon to graduate MLS candidates will be considered), knowledge of reference and library services, knowledge of collection development, ability to receive, understand, interpret and carry out library policies and procedures, one year experience in customer service, flexibility in scheduling.
