BiblioTemps® is an employment service of the Massachusetts Library System that provides experienced library workers for temporary placements in public, academic, and special libraries throughout Massachusetts.

Location:          W.E.B. Dubois Library, UMass Amherst

Start date:        As soon as possible
End date:          October 3, 2025
 
Schedule:         
From start through 8/29/25: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
From 8/30/25 - 10/3/25: Sunday 10:30am - 6:30pm, Monday -Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm
 
Pay Rate:          $17.50 per hour
CORI:                 Required
 
Duties:

• Work within a team to coordinate and oversee security activities, and monitor library users to reduce theft, vandalism and infractions of library rules in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library.  
• The Building Operations and Information Services Specialist will exercise a high degree of independent judgment in the performance of tasks, and exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
• Assist patrons with checking out items using either the Library’s Management System or self-checkout machines and with finding requested library materials in the library’s catalogue.
