Reference & Teen Services Librarian, Ventress Memorial Library (Marshfield)
Are you an energetic and creative librarian who enjoys working with both adults and teens? Ventress Memorial Library is seeking a versatile and community-minded Reference & Teen Services Librarian to join our team. This unique full-time position splits responsibilities between providing outstanding reference services and leading teen-focused initiatives, programs, and collections.
Summary of Position:
Provide professional reference services approximately 12 hours per week, assisting patrons with research, digital literacy, technical support, and access to digital resources.
Spend the remaining 25.5 hours per week planning, promoting, and implementing engaging services, programs, and outreach for tweens and teens (grades 6–12).
Develop and maintain a vibrant, welcoming Teen Room space and curate relevant collections for young adults.
Stay up to date on technology trends and support patrons in using makerspace tools, including 3D printers, tablets, and other creative technologies.
Collaborate across departments on library-wide programs and contribute to outreach and community engagement efforts.
Qualifications
Master of Science in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in a library or related field.
Proven success in mentoring, leading, or creating high-interest programs for teens.
Proficiency in social media, graphic design tools, and makerspace technology.
Experience teaching technology to patrons or the public; comfort with 3D printers and hands-on learning tools is essential.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Grant writing experience is strongly preferred.
