Librarian I (part-time), Seekonk Public Library (Seekonk)

Seekonk Public Library is looking for a friendly, energetic, and dedicated part-time Librarian I
to join our team! If you love working with the community, enjoy variety in your workday, and

What You’ll Do:
As a Librarian I, you’ll play an important role in making our library a welcoming and engaging
place for everyone. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:
 Helping patrons of all ages find the information and resources they need
 Providing assistance with technology, library instruction, and reader’s advisory
 Contributing your creativity to marketing and promotional projects (we’d love your ideas!)
 Collaborating with a great team to enhance the library experience for our community

Schedule:
This is a part-time (19 hours/week), non-exempt position with the following schedule:
 Tuesdays: 4:00–8:00 PM
 Wednesdays: 12:00–8:00 PM
 Saturdays: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Qualifications

Who You Are:
We’re looking for someone who has (or will soon have) a Master’s Degree in Library Science
from an ALA-accredited program. Candidates graduating within six (6) months of the start date
and with relevant library experience are encouraged to apply!
The ideal candidate is someone who:
 Understands library services, technology, and how to help people navigate both
 Works well independently but also enjoys being part of a team
 Is friendly, approachable, and loves helping people
 Communicates clearly and confidently
 Thrives in a busy public-service environment and brings positive energy to their work

Salary Notes

The starting rate is $30.95 per hour, with increases to follow in three annual steps.
