Schedule: 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday, some nights and Saturdays
Pay Rate: $20.75 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience

Description:
The Town of Medway’s Public Library seeks qualified candidates for the full time (40 hour per week), temporary position of Children’s/Young Adult Librarian. This position reports directly to the Library Director.
Duties:
· Manages the Children’s and Young Adult Departments under the general direction of the Library Director.
· Plans and conducts children’s story times, book clubs, special events and other programs for children and teens.
· Works with the Makerspace Coordinator and library volunteers to plan and conduct STEAM programs for children and teens.
· Provides readers’ advisory, reference, early literacy, outreach, and other library services to children, families, educators, and other patrons.
· Develops and maintains collection of children’s and young adult materials to meet community needs.
· Coordinates activities with schools, preschools, day care centers, and community groups both at the library and at the schools and day care centers.
· Prepares and manages Cultural Council and other grants for children's and young adult programming.
· Performs circulation desk responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution. Recent or current MLIS graduates welcome to apply.
· Experience working with and providing programming to children and teens.
· Knowledge of contemporary children’s and young adult literature.
· Enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Familiarity with electronic technology and social media.
· Ability to communicate tactfully and courteously with all ages.
