Circulation Assistant/Children’s Programming Associate, Plympton Public Library (Plympton)
Plympton Public Library is looking for a creative, outgoing and community oriented person to fill a role as a part-time circulation assistant/children’s programming associate.
The circulation assistant/children’s programming associate will plan and run a weekly story time at the Library as well as design and update 2 bulletin boards. The ideal candidate will be able to engage families with fun, entertaining, and educational story times. Other tasks may include keeping the children’s area organized and accessible, assisting patrons with library resources and technology, and some shelving duties. The candidate should be outgoing, friendly, organized, flexible, & detail oriented. The current position is approximately (5) hours a week. This is a part-time non-benefited position. The hourly rate ranges from $15.00 to $19.75 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and relevant experience.
Qualifications
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) year related work experience. Some knowledge of children’s literature, as well as proficient skills in the operation of personal computers, office equipment and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are preferred. This position requires an individual who has exceptional customer service and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and function effectively in a public setting both, independently and as a team member. Job requires physical ability to bend and lift loads to 25 lbs.
