Youth Services Librarian, Sutton Free Public Library (Sutton)
The Town of Sutton is seeking an energetic, creative Youth
Services Librarian with knowledge of early literacy and
child development and a strong commitment to outstanding
customer service. The Youth Services Librarian will develop,
implement, and oversee a comprehensive array of library
programs and services for patrons ranging from infants
through teens. Other responsibilities include youth
collection development and maintenance, staffing the public
service desk, representing the library in the community
(including at special events), and serving as liaison to
local schools.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science preferred
- Prior public library experience in youth services preferred
- Knowledge of children’s and/or teen’s collection development a plus
- Knowledge of early literacy and/or child development a plus
- Experience identifying, preparing, submitting, and managing grants a plus
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with library patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong commitment to outstanding customer service
- Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to work in a dynamic environment
