Adult Services Library Assistant, Boxford Town Library (Boxford)
The Town of Boxford is accepting applications for a full-time Library Assistant for Adult Services at the Boxford Town Library. This position provides library services for patrons; performs a variety of routine clerical and manual work in circulating, acquiring and processing library materials, developing adult programming, and performs some bookkeeping tasks.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
2. Previous library experience
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with patrons of all ages. Ability to deal with the all members of the public in a courteous and tactful manner. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other libraries.
2. General working knowledge of library principles and procedures. General knowledge of circulation policies and procedures highly desirable. Familiarity with automated library systems and related applications. Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, forms, and equipment.
3. Attention to detail and ability to organize of workload.
4. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
5. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license and have own automobile.
6. Must be experienced with or able to learn how to operate Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Canva, and Library Aware. Experience with or ability to learn how to operate automated library computer systems.
