Adult Services Assistant, Paul Pratt Memorial Library (Cohasset)

Join the Town of Cohasset, a vibrant waterfront community on the South Shore, as an Adult Services Assistant at the Paul Pratt Memorial Library. We're a dynamic, collaborative team that loves what we do and takes pride in serving our community. We're looking for a motivated professional who’s ready to hit the ground running, work side-by-side with talented colleagues, and drive new ideas and positive initiatives that make a real impact. If you’re ready to bring your skills, passion, and fresh perspective to a place that values innovation and teamwork, we want to hear from you.

Position Overview:

The Adult Services Assistant is supervised by the Assistant Library Director and collaborates closely with them to develop, plan, and oversee library programming for adults and all-ages audiences. The role also involves organizing special programs in collaboration with local groups as well as community outreach. The Adult Services Assistant also offers reference and tech help services when needed. Some collection development will also be required.  As the PPML is a team-oriented environment, all employees are required to cover different departments, when necessary, especially on the Circulation Desk. This position requires night and weekend shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:
A master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution; experience in a public library setting; demonstrated skill in reference services, readers’ advisory, and adult programming; and knowledge of local, state, and national reference resources.
