Boston Bruins Statewide Support for Literacy
The Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) have been working together since 2009. Each summer the Bruins make special visits to libraries to support literacy and award prizes to summer reading participants. The MBLC and the Boston Bruins also work together to create a
Boston Bruins Recommended Reading List that features the players' favorite books. In addition an annual
READ poster featuring a player is created each summer and available for libraries to order at no cost to them.
