Youth Services Librarian, Ingalls Memorial Library (Rindge, NH)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages the daily operations of Youth Services to ensure the highest quality service.
Oversees the development and implementation of all programs and outreach efforts for youth aged 0 – 18.

Maintains a welcoming, helpful library atmosphere for patrons and colleagues.
Creates library promotional materials and displays.

Evaluates and selects materials for children and teens to ensure the availability of a well-rounded, current collection.

Catalogs materials for children and teens.

Prepares bibliographic and item records to provide access and retrieval for catalog users.  

Processes materials to make shelf-ready.

Plans, executes, and evaluates a wide variety of on- and off-site programs for children, teens, and/or their caregivers to heighten library visibility, market the library and its resources, and/or meet community needs.

Qualifications

Completion or anticipated completion of Master's Degree in library science from an ALA-accredited library school preferred.  

Completed coursework in youth services or equivalent experience.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the job—including experience in programming for children and teens.

A background check is required.

Salary Range

$19.50 - $23.00  / hour

Salary Notes

35 hours per week - Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday hours required.
