Youth Services Supervisor, McArthur Library (Biddeford, ME)
McArthur Library, a cornerstone of the Biddeford community since 1863, is seeking a dynamic Youth Services Supervisor/Librarian to join our team. Located in the heart of Biddeford, our library is dedicated to fostering a love of learning and providing cultural enrichment to our diverse community. With extensive collections, engaging programs, and a welcoming environment, we strive to be a hub of knowledge, creativity, and connection for patrons of all ages.
In this role, you will:
Supervise, mentor, and lead Youth Services staff, including the management of training and scheduling;
Oversee the children’s collection, including books, audiobooks, graphic novels, and digital resources;
Collaborate with the Programming and Outreach Team Leads, as well as a Cataloging Librarian, to develop and deliver high-quality services and programs for children;
Provide direct library services to patrons.
Qualifications
At least four years of experience in children's services, collection development, and team supervision, within a library or similar environment;
Strong knowledge of children’s literature and early childhood development;
A Master of Library Science (MLS) degree is preferred but not required;
