Assistant Director, Jesse M Smith Memorial Library (Burrillville, RI)
The Town of Burrillville, a community of 16,158 located in northwest Rhode Island, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director. The opening is at the Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library, a 24,900 square foot facility, located in the village of Harrisville. This position reports to the Director. Assists Director in planning and implementing policies and procedures of the library. Assumes responsibilities of the director in his/her absence. Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision, and be capable of supervising staff and volunteers. This is a full time position (35 hours per week) with some nights and weekends required.
Salary Range: $65,000 – $69,900 (depending on qualifications) plus excellent benefits
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· Masters of Library Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association.
· Minimum of 4 years professional library experience.
· Supervisory experience required.
· Ability to work independently.
· Exemplary customer service skills. Comfortable working with the public in busy situations.
· Organization skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent computer skills required.
