Collection Development Manager, Springfield City Library (Springfield)

As the Collection Development Manager for the Springfield City Library system, you'll have a substantial budget to spend on books, digital materials, and so many other types of materials our residents are looking for. You'll have a team of selectors to help with this important work, and an in-house team of catalogers and copy catalogers to get the new items out the door and into eager patrons' hands (and earbuds). There's much more to this important position, too.

The new Manager will be based at our Central Library and oversee the work of cataloging and acquisitions workers as well as manage our significant collections budget, including endowments and trusts, of approximately $750,000. They will take a lead role in developing collections of all formats, coordinating the work of multiple selectors. Long-term, they will be involved in revising our Collection Development Policy after our new Strategic Priorities are adopted (2025). The annual salary range is $69,390.57 - $90,244.29.

Are you ready to work as part of our dedicated team of professionals in a very busy urban library system? Our 77,672 registered patrons account for circulation of nearly 600,000 items! The closing date for this position is Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET.
